**This area was severely hit by the Nepali earth quake in Spring 2015. Until further notice, we recommend "Ganesh Himal-Singla Top" instead**
Named after the elephant-headed God of Good Fortune, Ganesh Himal offers spectacular views, untouched natural splendor and wild but friendly habitations. It can clearly be seen from the Kathmandu Valley. The Ganesh Range Peaks stands out, crystal-like, a "Great Himalayan Chain" forming the skyline. This great Himalayan massif is located between the valley of the Buri Gandaki in the west and Bhote Koshi in the east, which becomes Trishuli Khola in the lower section.

Sæson

Nepal has the widest altitude range of any country on the earth. Each altitude has its own weather, from tropical heat to Arctic cold. In the main trekking seasons in the spring (March/April) and autumn (October/November), the weather is generally stable and even the high passes may be free of snow and relatively easy to traverse at times. But beware, you are heading into the World’s highest mountain range and be prepared for changes of temperature and weather. And though this period is generally expected to be dry, as everywhere, rainfall and gloomy weather may occur making the mountains less visible. Not least, sudden snow may be experienced at high altitudes blocking the trail and bringing with it freezing temperatures.

The monsoon season roughly starts mid-May/June and runs to the end of August. During this period rainfall and muddy trails may be expected and the possibility to see mountains is less as compared to the main trekking seasons. Travelers who value greenery and quiet environments will love traveling during monsoon season. We recommend the Upper Mustang area in the monsoon season due to it being relatively shaded from rain during June-August.
