Overlanding is a fantastic way to experience the traveller's paradise of the Americas! Dragoman have been the world's leading overland operator for decades, so take advantage of our years of experience and come with us as we include all the must-see attractions as well as heading into the wilds, well away from the usual tourist trail. We begin our journey in the Alaskan town of Anchorage, and wind our way through the wilds of Alaska and the forest-covered slopes of Canada's mountain country. We will learn about the local cultures and minig history, camp out in the wilderness, trek through the breathtaking landscapes, forests and glaciers, and have the chance to enjoy some exhilirating outdoor activities in some of the world's best National Parks such as Denali, Jasper and Banff. From the glittering city of Banff, we journey through the stunning western USA along the famous Rocky Mountains, to the awe-inspiring Grand Canyon, the geothermal geysers of Yellowstone, the red columns of Monument Valley in Utah, and through the incredible deserts of Arizona en route to Mexico. This scenic and active journey takes us to Mexico's buzzing capital. From the artistic Mexico City, we journey through some of Central America's greatest highlights including Mexico's incredible Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza, the tropical paradise of Caye Caulker in Belize, the ruined city of Tikal and the colourful markets of Chichicastenango in Guatemala. From the charming colonial town of Antigua, we overland through the magnificent highlights of El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua, including their Mayan ruins, stunning beaches, wonderful towns, and spectacular volcanic scenery. We then head to Costa Rica to explore the forests and beaches there before arriving in Panama and its thriving capital. After a short flight to the incredible colonial town of Cartagena on the Caribbean coast, we explore some of Colombia's best highlights, such as the beautiful beaches of Tayrona National Park, the adventure capital of San Gil and the stunning historic town of Villa de Leyva, before crossing into Ecuador and arriving at its buzzing capital of Quito. From Quito we explore the stunning jungles, hills and towns of Ecuador and then head down to the coast and the idyllic beaches of Punta Sal in northern Peru. We then head south through Peru's deserts to the ruined Moche city of Chan Chan, then climb up to the spectacular Andean town of Huaraz, before heading to the chaotic capital of Lima. From Lima we continue down the coast to the magical dunes of Huacachina, and then overland to the mysterious Nazca Lines. We'll then climb up into the highlands to visit the colonial city of Arequipa and the breathtaking Colca Canyon, before staying at a local Quechua village stay on our way to the phenomenal city of Cuzco. Cuzco is our base for one of South America's best highlights, the Inca Trails and a visit to the legendary ruined city of Machu Picchu.   • Day 1 Anchorage

    Border information: If you are joining in Anchorage, you will most likely enter the USA at Anchorage Ted Stevens International Airport (IATA code: ANC). There will be an important group meeting at 18:00 at the joining hotel - please look out at the hotel reception for a note from your leader with more details about this important meeting. The rest of the day is free to explore Anchorage and its stunning surroundings. Please note that many of the options listed below will only be possible for those with extra time in Anchorage before the start of your trip with us - please contact the Sales team if you would like to book pre-tour accommodation with us to have extra time exploring Anchorage. In Anchorage we will stay in private rooms in a centrally-located hostel.

  • Day 2 to 3 Seward

    Today our journey begins with a short drive to the town of Seward. Estimated Drive Time - 3-4 hours (please note that all drive times given here are the approximate number of hours that the truck will be in motion only, and does not include any time taken for coffee or lunch stops, border crossings, photo stops, activities en route, comfort breaks, shopping stops, toilet stops, etc. The times given are approximate estimates only and whilst given with the best of intentions, the drive times are heavily dependent on traffic, road conditions, weather, police roadblocks, and many other factors - flexibility is essential on any overland trip!). On the following day you will have free time to explore Seward and take part in optional activities such as a boat trip to the nearby Kenai Fjords National Park. In Seward we will camp near the shore.

  • Day 4 to 6 Denali National Park

    Today we will drive to Denali National Park, the home of Denali, the highest mountain in North America. Estimated Drive Time - 7-8 hours. On the following day we will have an included trip into Denali National Park. We will take a shuttle bus through the park to the Eielson Visitor Centre, where we will be able to explore and enjoy some excellent hiking and wildlife viewing opportunities.  On the following day we will have a free day to further explore the National Park or take part in some of the many optional activities available here. In Denali National Park we will camp in a well-equipped campsite.

  • Day 7 to 8 Denali Highway

    Today we have a short and scenic drive to our lodge along the Denali Highway, located in an area popular with wildlife spotters and fishermen. Tonight we will camp in the grounds of an Alaskan lodge. Estimated Drive Time - 3-4 hours. On the following day we will head out along the river to an area deep in the Alaskan wilderness, where we will be able to head out on a trek to a nearby glaicer, explore the surrounding wilderness, and then wild camp for the night.

  • Day 9 to 10 McCarthy

    Today we will head back downstream from our wilderness camp to rejoin our bus. We will then drive to the historic remote outpost of McCarthy, once a thriving copper mining town and the gateway town to the stunning Wrangell-St Elias National Park. Estimated Drive Time - 7-8 hours. On the following day we will have free time to explore Wrangell-St Elias National Park and the historic towns of McCarthy and Kennicott. We will have the chance to take part in an abundance of optional activities such as hiking, historic mine tours, scenic flights, glacier walks and ice climbing. In McCarthy we will camp in a very basic campsite.
