A slender green sliver of land clinging to the south western flank of the Indian peninsula, Kerala is one of the southern states of the Republic of India. Though its roots date back to the early years of the Christian era, the modern state of Kerala was created in 1956, when all the states of India were reorganized on a linguistic basis.

· Take in Cochin and that special colonial charm of the city when visiting the Dutch Palace and observing the Chinese fishing nets
· Enjoy unique geographical features and lovely green surroundings high in the mountains when exploring the tea estates of Munnar and spotting rare mountain goats
· Explore villages, paddy fields and fishing by villagers while cruising the backwaters on a wooden houseboat

  • Day 1: Arrive Cochin

    Arrive in Cochin. Upon arrival in Cochin, you will be meet and transferred to hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in hotel.

  • Day 2: Cochin to Munnar

    After breakfast proceeds for the city tour, visit Jewish synagogue, St. Francis church - The oldest European church in India and has great historical significance as a mute witness to the European colonial struggle in the subcontinent. The Portuguese explorer, Vasco da Gama, died in Kochi in 1524 when he was on his third visit to India. His body was originally buried in this church, but after fourteen years his remains were removed and were send to Lisbon. Dutch palace built by the Portuguese and presented to Veera Kerala Varma (1537-65), Raja of Kochi, in 1555 AD. The Dutch carried out some extensions and renovations in the palace in 1663, and thereafter it was popularly called Dutch Palace.
    Later visit Chinese fishing nets and by noon board a boat for a small backwater cruise. Late afternoon drive to Munnar hills (4 hours).

  • Day 3: Munnar

    After breakfast, you will proceed for the sightseeing and visit, Rajamala is a lovely green paradise high up in the hills, home to the rare mountain goat ??Nilgiri Tahr'. A part of the Eravikulam National Park, Rajamala is a 15 kilometers (9 miles) drive from Munnar. Anaimudi, the highest peak in South India at a height of 2695 meters (8983 feet) lies in the Eravikulam National Park. Interestingly, half the world population of the rare Nilgiri Tahr is concentrated in this region. Visit Tea museum and top station. Return to town for spices shopping.
    Overnight in Munnar.

  • Day 4: Munnar to Alleppey

    Start early After breakfast check out and drive to Alleppey to board the houseboat. Cruise through the most enchanting backwaters in Asia, while food will be served on board.
    Overnight in Houseboat.

  • Day 5: Alleppey to Cochin Airport

    After breakfast check out at 9 a.m. and proceed to Cochin airport to catch flight back home or for your next destination on your own.

Throughout the year – Kerala experiences pleasant weather throughout the year. The best time to visit Kerala is in the months October to March, which is also the peak season for Kerala visits. June to August is the time for Monsoon.
