Explore the original and least visited section of the Great Wall and get close to the daily life of the local villagers. You will hike the original and untouched section of the Great Wall, stay overnight in a farmer's homestay, and if weather permits, camp on the wall to enjoy its magnificence far away from the crowds. You will take part in the daily life of the local villagers; do volunteer work if preferred and bicycle along the quiet and beautiful countryside paths before you go back to urban life in Beijing.

Accommodation: 1 night in local farmer’s guesthouse with private bathroom and 1 night camping stay in tent on double occupancy with sleeping bag and damp-proof pad (if weather do not permit, you will stay in a farmer’s guesthouse)

Day 1 : Beijing – Xizhazi Village
Picked up by your guide from your hotel at 08:30, take a long distance A/C public bus heading towards the northeast of Beijing. arrive in the Xizhazi village before noon; after a lunch break, hike along the Wild Great wall for about 4 hours depending on your energy from the back Jiankou Section all the way to the Zhengbeilou Beacon Tower, this section of the wall is untouched with great scenery, considered as a paradise of professional photographers. Overnight staying on the wall in tent with simple picnic dinner/stay at local farmer's guesthouse if the weather is not good for camping. (L-D)
Day 2 : Xizhazi Village -Bei Gou Village
Enjoy the sunrise on the wall, after breakfast, continue hiking on the wall heading to the front Jiankou Section, enjoy a boxed lunch on the wall. In the early afternoon, descend the wall nearby Bei Gou village, check in a farmer's guesthouse for some relaxing time in the courtyard or do volunteering works, such as teach local pupils and villagers English ( if not on schooling day ) or help your hostess collect some fresh vegetables and prepare your dinner. Enjoy BBQ dinner in the courtyard with some cold beers and cups of Great Wall Wine. Afterwards some free time for your own exploration in the village where you can meet the local villagers. overnight at local farmer's guesthouse with simple facilities, private bathroom. (B-L-D)
Day 3: Bei Gou Village – Beijing
After breakfast, bike riding with your tour guide along quiet countryside paths through the villages around, visit orchards, village committee offices, rainbow trout farming base and witness the daily life of the locals. A Chinese food lunch will be served at your guesthouse, take a nap or enjoy free time until pick up and transfer back to Beijing city by private vehicle, one the way have a photo stop at 2008 Beijing Olympics Park to have a close look at the Bird's Nest and Water Cube ( exterior views ).The trip ends at your hotel around 17:00. Beijing has four seasons and we generally recommend spring, summer and autumn as the best times to visit. Heavy rain may be expected during the rainy season ( July - August ).
Winter is normally cold with temperature around or below 0 degrees. We do not recommend this trip in this period.
