The Jaipur Community Volunteer program enables you to provide education, care and empowerment to the communities you visit. Working in local schools, volunteers offer much needed support to local teachers, adding to the children’s educational experience by instructing classes while helping to develop students’ positive attitudes about personal hygiene and school attendance. When schools are not in session, volunteers can assist the volunteer organization and the community to run independent classes in English and maths. Volunteers also teach at special schools for mentally challenged children, providing much needed emotional support and teaching educational as well as job related skills. For those volunteers with a professional interest in education, this opportunity offers a chance to improve their skills in a unique environment.Volunteers may also assist in local childcare centers, known as Aanganbari. Unfortunately, Aanganbaris suffer from underfunding and mismanagement. Volunteers share the workload with regular staff and help bring a level of professionalism, dedication and the community’s attention to these important institutions. In addition to working at the projects, volunteers will have ample opportunity to experience the local cultures and lifestyles as well as plenty of free time to explore the surrounding areas.

The camp in Jaipur is located in an urban residential area of this beautiful city which allows volunteers to indulge in the culturally vibrant city life of Jaipur while enjoying the heritage and traditions of Rajasthan. Being the capital city, Jaipur offers modern infrastructure, an extensive public transport network, modern shopping complexes and a variety of restaurants and bars. The accommodation is a 15-minute drive from the walled city, popularly known as the Pink City which is quite a happening part of Jaipur. The walled city is resplendent in red and pink with thousands of shops displaying ethnic wear, traditional jewellery and precious gem stones, delicious food and so much more to the curious visitors. Jaipur offers close proximity to tourist places like Pushkar, Bharatpur, Ranthambore, Udaipur, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer.
Your accommodation is in four-bed dormitories with shared bathroom facilities. The volunteer camp is where volunteers and other program participants from all over the world will stay which makes it a very rich, international environment. Enjoy the social aspects of the communal dining area with all meals prepared by a talented cook every day. There is housekeeping of common areas, and any required maintenance. Volunteers are expected to clean their own rooms and wash their dishes after meals.
You can also spend some nights at homestay accommodation with local Indian families. For this you have to inform us in advance. When staying with a family, participants are expected to behave respectfully and adhere to the rules and curfews decided by the families in accordance to their local culture. These rules are likely to be stricter than what participants are used to in their home culture.

Airport departure transfer is available from 00:00 hrs on the previous date until 11:59 Hrs. on the program ending date as mentioned. E.g. if the end date is 15st Jan then 00:00 on 14th Jan to 23:59 on the 15th Jan.
- The check-out time is 12:00 on the last day of the program.
Meals included as per itinerary (B=breakfast, L=lunch and D=dinner). Please inform us of any dietary restrictions or intolerances during your application. However, we need to stress the point that you should not expect to eat as you normally do at home. How long should I volunteer?
Our projects range from 1 week up to approx. 30 weeks. Projects have a specified minimum stay, then it’s up to you how long you can commit. In our experience the longer you stay the more you will gain, as your understanding of the project broadens and you take on more responsibilities.
