White sands, blue skies, and crystal-clear waters – cruise the extraordinary islands of the Maldives by traditional dhoni. Experience the turquoise lagoons and perfect beaches that make these islands famous. Learn the local way and dive the spectacular corals of the Indian Ocean. Every day offers relaxing sea breezes and countless photo opportunities. Indulge yourself in this tropical paradise.

  • Day 1 Male/South Male Atoll (1L, 1D)

Transfer to the town of Male for a tour before boarding the boat in the afternoon. Have lunch on board, settle in, and set sail on a voyage of discovery.

  • Day 2 South Male Atoll/Ambara (1B, 1L, 1D)

After a relaxed start, continue to the southernmost point of South Male Atoll before crossing the channel to Felidhoo Atoll. Reach the idyllic uninhabited island of Ambara by early afternoon. Enjoy the rest of the day at the beach or snorkelling the crystal-clear waters around the island.

  • Day 3 Ambara/Fenboa Finolhu (1B, 1L, 1D)

Cruise across the Meemu Atoll and arrive to Fenboa Finolhu, another beautiful uninhabited island. Stay the night with plenty of time to enjoy the beach and snorkel amongst the reefs.

  • Day 4 Fenboa Finolhu/Dhiggaru (1B, 1L, 1D)

Head east towards the island of Djiggaru, stopping along the way to snorkel on a reef, arriving in the late afternoon. Spend the evening enjoying the laid back pace and traditional way of life of the locals. With some luck, get an invitation for an evening performance of Bodu Beru (Big Drum), the traditional folk music of the country.

  • Day 5 Dhiggaru/Felidhu Atholhu (1B, 1L, 1D)

Head back to Felidhoo Atoll and its administrative centre, Felidhoo. Take time to wander through the village and learn something new about the lives of the islanders.

Traditional dhoni boat (6 nts). A NOTE REGARDING SMALL SPACES ON BOATS: Please note that the rooming for these boats is done on a first-come, first-serve basis and no particular cabins nor berths can be guaranteed. Our skippers will pair up travel partners or if you are travelling single with someone of the same sex. Please be aware that as this is a traditional dhoni and not a cruise vessel, that the space on board is tight. You will be sharing a small room with one of your fellow passengers or travel partner and sharing all the facilities onboard. The sleeping quarters on boats are generally kept to a minimum size in order to maximize public space and performance. Some people are not comfortable with the type of close quarter arrangements typically found on boats, however if a real sailing experience on a real dhoni is what you are after, then this experience should more than make up for cramped quarters. Please note that the skipper will also be sharing the ship's quarters and amenities with you.
